If ya don't know, now ya know! For those of you who missed the last few Sundays or we just haven't had time to catch up, let it be known officially that Veggie Soul Sundays are on hiatus until September. With the summer wrapping up we are taking a break from cooking as we are swamped with getting you and your kiddies lookin' fly for the new (and rapidly approaching) school year. Yessir, the braiding side of business has been quite busy and so we are taking a little time out from the kitchen to make sure everybody goes back looking good and also to test out some new recipes. Not to worry the salmon burgers, egg rolls and all of your other favorites will still be in rotation come September, however we want to continue to expand your veggie horizons and introduce some new dishes. So with that said, think of this as a short break for testing and research & development.

VS Update and Eggrolls
Is it because you couldn't see what it looked like? Is that why you
decided to pass on the oven roasted veggies over wild rice? Well seeing
is believing but taste is proof and if you missed it, boy did you miss
it. The avocado dressing was delicious we're still tweaking it a bit
but not too much, and those strawberry shortcake cupcakes with the
strawberry filling and whipped cream on top, my, my, my! Thanks to those
who made us a pit stop after church, before of after the Black Arts
Festival, and in between running your miscellaneous errands, we
appreciate you.
This coming Sunday we're going to go ahead and give you something that you love, the veggie fried rice and eggrolls (yes you can order extra eggrolls for $1 each). So if you're not in Winter Park for the Jazz Festival or some other far off place enjoying what summer has to offer, come on by and check us out, we'd love to serve you.

VS Update and Roasted Veggies
What can I say about this past Veggie Soul Sunday! So you know the
cookies that "Triple K" begged me to make, well let's just say they
ended up being a no-show thanks to some high level on a Wii game. Can
you believe they chose video games over a 350 degree kitchen baking
cookies from scratch with their mom??? Nevertheless the cookies were
AWESOME if I must say so myself.
It was hot outside, it was hot inside and those who braved the heat I hope you had a nice cool spot to enjoy your salmon burger. I was glad to see that some of you took advantage of the bench we have on our porch, we're also hoping to have our back patio as an available dining space soon.
As you may have noticed it's taken a while for this update to be posted, not because we don't know what we're having but because we're having issues with the photo. So check back to see if the issue has been resolved but in the meantime... Picture this:
Your favorite veggies roasted to bring out the ultimate flavor, fresh herbs and spices over a bed of wild rice served with a side salad (we will have some NEW homemade salad dressings this week) and parmesan bread knots. Doesn't that sound delicious?! It's a perfect summer meal enough to be filling but not weigh you down which will leave room for dessert, your choice of pineapple upside down cupcakes and strawberry shortcakes.

VS Update & Salmon Burgers
Spinach enchiladas leaving by the pan full, what an awesome sight to
see! Again we missed some of our regulars but we saw some new faces
this past Sunday, we hope to see every body plus some this coming
Sunday.
First Sunday is coming up and you know what that means...Salmon Burgers! You've been talking about it and we're looking forward to serving you. We're also allowing "Triple K" back in the kitchen to bake up some more batches of cookies. Yes they were banned to napkin duty a while back but they've been asking for a second chance, enough time has passed, a new mixer has been purchased so I think we can let bygones be bygones, keep your fingers crossed.

VS Update & Enchiladas
Veggie Soul Sunday was successful on two fronts this weekend, first of
all the calzones were a hit! We had the opportunity to witness about
five of them disappear (make that 4 1/2, SOMEBODY had to save some for
later). We received a text message and I quote "Walking through the
mall to walk this food off...I'm as full as a tick" that's a compliment
right?! We also received thumbs up on the home made crust, sauce, and
the cheese cake was in the winners circle once again.
In addition to the good food, we also had some great dialogues and some much needed feedback. We've become a favorite spot on Sunday and you want some of your favorite meals more often. Since the salmon burgers top the charts, the 1st Sunday of every month come get your burger on...it's official. (As always there will be a veggie alternative available). The spinach enchiladas will close out each month so on 4th Sunday you have them to look forward to. And even though this is 5th Sunday we're going to go ahead and close out this month with them. We're also giving you the choice to try our "Veggie Enchiladas". We're going to be rotating and adding some of the other meals on the 2nd, 3rd and occasional 5th Sunday until further notice so stay tuned. We value your input and interest and we appreciate each and every one of you.

hope you had the opportunity to spend the day with that special man in

VS Update & Baked Spaghetti
(Monday morning thoughts and reflections)
Thanks everyone for another successful Veggie Soul Sunday. We had over 20 request for EXTRA eggrolls which goes to show that an accident can be your greatest invention. That being said, it's time for an experiment. For the next couple of days my husband and I are going to be testing Calzone recipes, we will have our boys "Triple K" taste testing (children can be brutally honest). If all goes well, we will be serving them for dinner on Sunday, if not, Plan B is our Baked Spaghetti.
Fast forward to Wednesday night...
Baked Spaghetti it is...not because the Calzones were bad, quite the opposite, they were delicious! But since this Sunday is Father's Day and I had a couple of you ask me to hold off on them because of plans with your dads, husbands, and families etc. So in all fairness to the men in your life we'll wait we don't need the family falling out because you chose Veggie Soul Sunday Calzones over the Father's Day BBQ
